What you’ve picked up – not surprisingly – is my profound aversion to and disregard for plot. This is probably because I am not good at it and I find it embarrassing. Weird example: I love singing karaoke, but when I went to the old Sorry Charlie’s years ago, I could barely sing a song with a piano. I find plot exhausting, like doing math problems. So I resist it. So I may have resorting to something gimmicky to get out of it.
